ويقول الله تعالى َ لَنْ يَنَالَ اللَّهَ لُحُومُهَا وَلَا دِمَاؤُهَا وَلَٰكِنْ يَنَالُهُ التَّقْوَىٰ مِنْكُمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ سَخَّرَهَا لَكُمْ لِتُكَبِّرُوا اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا هَدَاكُمْ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you. Thus, have We subjected them to you that you may glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and give good tidings to the doers of good.
It was narrated that Shaddad bin Aws said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Allah has decreed proficiency in all things, so when you kill, kill well,
and when you slaughter, slaughter well. Let one of you sharpen his blade
and spare suffering to the animal he slaughters."

Al-Hasan quoted Samura who reported Allah's Messenger ﷺ as saying:
"A boy is in pledge for his 'aqiqah. Sacrifice is made for him on the
seventh day, he is given a name and his head is shaved."
